Many folks that move to Colorado from the East Coast, Midwest or south portion of the United States often state how dry it is here in Colorado. Compared to many humid places in the country the West is definitely much drier but this also means much more bearable extreme low and high temperatures. There are many things to do in Manitou Springs as well. For starters, there are a number of attractions right in the heart of Manitou Springs such as the Penny Arcade and Manitou Incline. Other attractions in the area include the incredible mix of eclectic shops, restaurants and antique stores. There are many annual events in Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs as well as at Garden of the Gods and the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. With so many different clusters of fun activities and events, the West Side of Colorado Springs ranks as one of the most desirable areas in all of Colorado Springs. 

Communities on the West Side

One of our favorite neighborhoods in all of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region is the community of Crystal Park. You can access Crystal Park through the gates in Manitou Springs. The road takes you up into a community embedded into a vast wild and open space. Other than a few homes strategically placed throughout Crystal Park you have rare, untouched nature. This place is a really cool place to live for those who want to stay close to the city but live in a rural setting. Crystal Park comes complete with a Home Owners Association that takes care of roads, a community center and even a pool and a fishing pond!
