Northgate Real Estate
With breathtaking views of the Front Range Mountains, Pikes Peak and even views of Blodgett Peak and USAFA. The name comes from the area's relationship to the north entrance of the United States Air Force Academy. This area holds an incredible glimpse into USFA's incredible nature-filled and beautiful surroundings. The distinct ponderosa pines of the area create vast forests and unique mountains terrain that slopes up towards the west and even interesting angles towards Pikes Peak, the Front Range Rocky Mountains, downtown Colorado Springs. On occasion, you will also receive incredible views out towards the eastern plains and north towards the lower side of the Palmer divide towards Black Forest. Northgate is a place to remember for both visitors and residents alike as there is always something new to explore with expansive national forests to the west and endless eastern plains to the east.

Aside from the gorgeous natural landscape, the Academy is situated in, the facilities, trails, and visitors opportunities are also world-class.
The Northgate Real Estate ranges from Interquest Parkway to the south and the North Gate Blvd area to the North. Some of the neighborhood's amenities in Northgate include New Life Church, Compassion International and the Rampart campus of Pikes Peak Community College. While Northgate is top-ranked Academy School District 20 residents also enjoy incredible views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains to the west and south. Additionally, there are superb views of the Tri-Lakes area and the Black Forest to the north. Colorado Springs has it all including some attractions that are within a 30-minute drive from Northgate. Our favorite locations that are approximately 30 minutes or less from Northgate are as follows:
Spruce Mountain Open Space
This Douglas County open space is filled with exciting hiking trails and views that are sure to impress. There are top-notch views of sandstone cliffs lined with scrub oak and plenty of wildlife to watch.
Devil's Head Lookout
This 1.4 miles trail takes you to a lookout that is set at 9,748' elevation. This trail is a very popular trail however it is very unique because there are still employees that man the station at the top which is a pretty cool thing to have someone there to answer questions.
Rampart Range
This area is four-wheelers dream. With so many different trails and roads to choose from this area is really unique a super popular place for intermediate to expert ATV, motorcycle and any other off-highway vehicle. Riders of all types will enjoy miles of scenic routes. Additionally, there are many other great activities to be had here such as camping, fishing, hiking and wildlife watching.

Additionally, our favorites list triples when you extend your driving distance to 1-hour. The following is a list of our favorite locations to visit that are within an hour's drive of Northgate.
Wilkerson Pass
Wilkerson pass (elevation 9,504 ft) is a great place to visit from Colorado Springs. With only a 50-mile drive the pass is always filled with things to do such as hiking, biking, wildlife watching and even hunting. The pass has incredible views of South Park, Eleven Mile Reservoir, Spinney Mountain Reservoir and Anterior Reservoir.
Arkansas River
Arkansas River Headwaters Recreation Area near Canon City, Salida, Buena Vista and Leadville is an incredible place to visit any time of the year, however, late spring/early summer is when the river levels are high enough for extreme whitewater rafting.
Lake Pueblo State Park
This incredible State Park has everything from some of the best fishing in the state of Colorado to some great views and amazing opportunities for water sports on this 4,600 surface acres of water. With 60 miles of shortline and nearly 10,000 acres of land for boating, camping, paddling, hiking and wildlife watching this hot spot is a must-see for anyone coming to Colorado.
Paint Mines Interpretive Area
Just east of Colorado Springs in Calhan, Colorado this El Paso County park is very unique with an amazing landscape that is sure to impress anyone interested in geology, biology or even astronomy. Paint Mines is a great location for star-gazing and it a popular spot to watch wildlife. The park has great signage that tells the story of the land. Proof of ancient Americans as far back as 9,000 years ago aevidentant here.
