Garden Ranch is a neighborhood in Northeast Colorado Springs. The homes in the area are older, as the neighborhood was built before 1980. The area is close to one of the largest parks in the city, Palmer Park. Union Square is a popular shopping center right at the intersection of Union and Academy as well. Garden Ranch provides great views of Pikes Peak and the front range. The community is surrounded by popular roads, so it is very easy to travel throughout the city as well. There are many great things about the community, and they all help to make it special. The older homes have been remodeled and most of the community now shows more of a modern home style with updated appliances. 

The homes in Garden Ranch were all built in the 1960s and 1970s. These older homes have been remodeled and updated, so they do not have the old feel. They do have the history though. These homes were some of the city's best and they have the size to back it up. Homes can get as large as 3,000 square feet, so even by these popular busy roads, you have enough space for yourself in your property. These homes lie in a prime location for the city. Surrounding the homes are shopping and dining options, roadways for easy traveling, and open spaces and parks close by. The best part of the community has to be the proximity to Palmer Park and the access to other parks and open spaces. Freemont Park, Tomah Park, Union Meadows Open Space, Garden Ranch Park, Dr. Frank Houck Park, and Grant Park are all within the community boundaries. Just south of the community lies Palmer Park, which is one of the largest parks in Colorado Springs. 

While the community is close to many parks, shopping and dining options, and major roadways, the homes make you feel like you are far away from all of that. Roads into neighborhoods wind and turn as they create a hidden gem of a neighborhood. Homes rarely have the view of major roadways, and instead, they get a view of the mountains or open space. The northeast part of Colorado Springs is home to so many great places in general, and Garden Ranch is close to everything. Union Boulevard and Academy Boulevard are two of the largest roadways in the city, meaning you can almost get anywhere in the city. At the intersection of Union and Academy is Union Square, a very popular shopping center. On the southwest corner lies a grocery store and even more shopping options. There is a Safeway, Target, Ross Dress For Less, and many other stores. Garden Ranch provides great access to the entire area.

Open spaces and parks surround the community. There are always fun places to spend time outisde. Union Meadows Open Space offers great trails and plenty of space to wander around, all within 5 minutes of your front door. Freemont Park has a baseball diamond built into it, so you can play catch or hit off a tee. Tomah Park offers a great field to throw the ball around with your dog. All of these parks offer enough space to sit and enjoy a picnic at them. Garden Ranch Park is right by the Garden Ranch YMCA. This park also has a baseball diamond, but the YMCA also offers much more. Playing volleyball on the grass, lawn games, or just runs in the park are all very common activities that the YMCA helps put on. Garden Ranch has over 2 miles of paths in the neighborhood itself for walking or running. The area in and around Garden Ranch provide an incentive for a very active lifestyle. 

As mentioned before, Palmer Park is located just to the south of Garden Ranch. Palmer Park is one of the largest parks in the city, and it is full of beautiful landscapes, sandstone rocks, and tall pine trees. The park hosts over 25 miles of trails for everything including hiking, running, and equestrian. Two baseball fields, a community playground, and a dog park are also in the park. There is a botanical preserve set inside the park, and along with the scenic drive through the park, it creates a wild feeling unlike anything else in the city. There are plenty of spaces in the park to have a picnic, as there are multiple places for large group gatherings or a small family gathering at a table. There are horse stables in the park as well, so you have the option to board your horse there if you so choose. The views from Palmer Park are unmatched in the city. The tallest rock formations sit above the city, giving you unblocked access to the view of Pikes Peak. The scenery is picturesque, and the trails and playground will make visiting Palmer Park fun for the whole family.

Schools near Garden Ranch

Garden Ranch is in the area of Colorado Springs School District 11. There are options for elementary, middle, and high schools in the area. Grant elementary school is right by the neighborhood. Grant Park backs up to the school. Mann Middle school is the middle school for Garden Ranch. Mitchell High School is the high school zoned for the area that is Garden Ranch. District 11 provides high-quality education for its students and prepares them for the real world.

Garden Ranch is ideally located to access the rest of Colorado Springs. There is plenty to do in the neighborhood, but the rest of the city has even more. Colorado Springs is very popular to visit for the attractions throughout the city and around it. 

Rampart Range Recreation Area. This recreation area is home to almost any outdoor activity you will ever want to do. Whether it be hiking, mountain biking, camping, or maybe you want to fish and go four-wheeling, this recreation area has access to it. With beautiful scenery and full forests, this beautiful area is home to not only fun adventures but beautiful and peaceful times. The view of the front range is prominent from Rampart Range Recreation Area, and it provides the perfect backdrop for having the time of your life outside. 

Garden of the Gods Park. This world-famous park is located about 30 minutes away from Black Forest, but it is well worth the trip. The beautiful sandstone rock and the incredible formations it makes provides a beautiful backdrop for the city. With Pikes Peak right behind the park, it is one of the most pristine views in the state. 

Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel. The most visited man-made tourist attraction in Colorado is the beautiful chapel on the United States Air Force Academy's Campus

Cheyenne Mountain State Park. With many outdoor activities to partake in, Cheyenne Mountain State Park is fun for the whole family. You can bring your dog to hike or run, you can mountain bike, there is an archery range, and you can even bring your RV. 

The Broadmoor resort. This five star five diamond resort is world-famous. With a golf course that has hosted the US Senior Open and the Women's US Open, there is a sense of prestige and history the moment you walk on the grounds. With world-class dining options and incredible views of the front range, spending time at the Broadmoor resort is an incredible experience. You can spend an entire day at the resort, and you will still not be close to doing everything you can.  

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This family-friendly place is a great time to spend with the kids or anyone for that matter. Very close to the Broadmoor, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is home to an abundance of animals. With gorillas, lions, elephants, and even a rhino, everyone in the family can spot their favorite animal. Not only that, the zoo has some of the best views of the city of Colorado Springs. You can see the Black Forest from the zoo, and you can witness the vastness of the second-largest city in the state. 

Will Rogers Shrine sits above the Cheyenne Mountain zoo and provides great views of the north back towards Black Forest, Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, and out into the Eastern Plains. Visiting this shrine provides a little history and incredible views for whoever ventures up the mountain to get there.
