Life in Flying Horse

Flying Horse is a high-end luxury suburban community. It is located on the north end of Colorado Springs, south of North Gate Road and to the West of Highway 83. There are plenty of things to do if you are living in Flying Horse. Enjoying the Club at Flying Horse is a must. The 18 hole golf course rivals some of the greatest courses in the world. Taking time and teeing off to play 9 or 18 is a must for all residents who enjoy the sport. The Club also has other recreational opportunities if golf isn't what you want to do. The athletic club is a great opportunity for club members to enjoy state-of-the-art equipment and work out. Part of the Athletic Club is a heated pool available year-round, 2 seasonal pools, multiple youth programs, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, and much more. The spa, one of the residents' favorite amenity, is open to the public and does not require a club membership. The spa has a variety of options, from a quick massage to a full 2-hour body treatment. One of the most popular parts of the Club at Flying Horse is Clubhouse dining. The dining offerings include the Tack room, great for happy-hour and casual dining, the Athletic Bar and Grill, great for fueling up in between workouts, and the Steakhouse. The Steakhouse is high-end luxurious dining with world-class food and beverage options. Set in a Tuscan style villa, you will experience the best steakhouse in the area in an incredible setting. 

Outside of the Club at Flying Horse, there are plenty of activities to do in Flying Horse. There are plenty of parks in the area to spend time at. There are also plenty of other dining options. Right at Highway 83 and North Gate, there is Walters 303, a Colorado pizza joint with great food and drink options for all. If you are feeling dessert after dinner, Josh and John's Ice Cream is right next door. They churn their ice cream in-store, so it is always fresh and creamy. You can taste the difference. Closer to Interstate 25 is a grocery store, so you do not have to travel far for that. Also on North Gate by the interstate is a Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, Kneaders, Costa Vida, and much more. Flying Horse is a neighborhood with plenty of dining options close by. It is close to Highway 83 and Interstate 25, so you have quick access to Denver or Parker. 

Attractions Nearby

Bass Pro Shops. Just down on North Gate, Bass Pro Shops is a great store to spend hours at, and you can wander around and see some fish native to the Colorado region in a large tank. Also available at the store is a bowling alley where you can spend hours with friends and family. Served at the bowling alley is a Colorado favorite, alligator hamburgers. 

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This family-friendly place is a great time to spend with the kids or anyone for that matter. Only 25 minutes from Flying Horse and very close to the Broadmoor, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is home to an abundance of animals. With gorillas, lions, elephants, and even a rhino, everyone in the family can spot their favorite animal. Not only that, the zoo has some of the best views of the city of Colorado Springs. You can see the Black Forest from the zoo, and you can witness the vastness of the second-largest city in the state. 

The Broadmoor Resort. A 25 minute drive from Flying Horse, this five star five diamond resort is world-famous. With a golf course that has hosted the US Senior Open and the Womens US Open, there is a sense of prestige and history the moment you walk on the grounds. With world-class dining options and incredible views of the front range, spending time at the Broadmoor resort is an incredible experience. You can spend an entire day at the resort, and you will still not be close to doing everything you can.  

Garden of the Gods. This world-famous park is located about 20 minutes away from Flying Horse, but it is well worth the trip. The beautiful sandstone rock and the incredible formations it makes provides a beautiful backdrop for the city. With Pikes Peak right behind the park, it is one of the most pristine views in the state. 

Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel. The most visited man-made tourist attraction in Colorado is the beautiful chapel on the United States Air Force Academy's Campus

Rampart Range Recreation Area. This recreation area is home to almost any outdoor activity you will ever want to do. Whether it be hiking, mountain biking, camping, or maybe you want to fish and go four-wheeling, this recreation area has access to it. With beautiful scenery and full forests, this beautiful area is home to not only fun adventures but beautiful and peaceful times. The view of the front range is prominent from Rampart Range Recreation Area, and it provides the perfect backdrop for having the time of your life outside.
