History of Cedar Heights

The Cedar Heights area is full of some amazing history. Native American tribes inhabited or migrated through the area every year. Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods were very spiritual places for the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes. The Ute called Pikes Peak "Ta¬Wa¬Ah¬Gath" which means "Sun Mountain Sitting Big". They called it that based on the way the sun would reflect off of the snow-capped mountain. Cedar Heights has been home to people for such an long time, and the history of the land reflects it.
