Colorado Springs has some awesome things to do this week

Colorado Springs is a super-fun place to be all year long, however, this time of year, is particularly exciting. With incredible weather fit to satisfy any outdoor adventure to unique events only found in the Pikes Peak region, Colorado Springs has plenty of things to do for both adults and kids alike. We have lived here for more than 32 years and love sharing our local knowledge. 1. Colorado Springs Rodeo

When: August 1st at 5:00 PM

Cost: $25 for Adults and $15.50 for children - BUY TICKETS

WhereNorris Penrose Event Center

Why:  Adventures Out West has created a truly unique rodeo for Colorado Springs locals to enjoy. This event has been becoming more popular as it is different from any other rodeo. The crowd participates in this rode! The Colorado Springs Rodeo lets you get down and dirty an actually be apart of the rodeo. Enjoy watching the interactive events on the rodeo floor with other participants and the professional rodeo riders. This week's event features a live concert from musical artist Sandy Wells.



2. Space Foundation Summer of Discovery - Suit Up!

When: Tuesday, July 31st and Saturday, August 4th 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Cost: Included in General Admission to the Discovery Center ($2 - $7.50)

Where: 4425 Arrowswest Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80907

Why: This hands-on display allows participants to learn about the many challenges faced by aerospace engineers and how they design space suits. To be able to survive in the harsh environments of outer space engineers have to consider modern day fashion combined with utility so the future of space suits will identify with human's view of the future, space, and fashion. Come to experience these spacesuit designs first-hand with special guests and activities perfect for anyone interested in learning about an out-of-this-world topic. 


3. Little London Winds Strike Up the Band Concert

When: July 30th 

Where: Soda Springs Park, Manitou Springs

Cost: Free

Why: Established in 1922 by top performing local musician's the Little London Wind's is an ensemble of amateur musicians who have a yearning for a high standard of performance. The Little London Winds perform a wide array of music from classic, popular pieces to modern-day music for crowds all over Colorado and even New Mexico. The Stike Up the Band concert series is a set in the fantastic Soda Springs Park, in the heart of Manitou Springs. This week the concert features the music theme Space & Beyond. 



4. Tri-Lakes Concerts in the Park

When: August 1st at 7:00 PM

Where: Limbach Park in Monument

Why: The annual Tri-Lakes Concerts in the Park features the Inman Brothers this week who play Pop, Rock, Americana and Classics. Check them out on youtube. Bring your picnic gear and your dancing shoes so you can cut a rug! The event features food trucks and because it is free, bring some cash, as a hat will be passed around for donations. This event is put on by the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce and donations go to support future free events. We will see you there!



5. TRAXXAS Monster Truck Tour

When: Saturday August 4th 1:30 PM & 7:30 PM

Where: Norris Penrose Event Center

Why: If you love the roar of huge trucks combined with acrobatics, racing, smashing, jammer stacks and destruction this event is for you. These trucks are humongous! Monster truck lovers will flock to this fun and exciting event. The event is perfect for the kids however it is not recommended for kids under 2 years old.
