Things to do in Colorado Springs | Labor Day Liftoff

Labor Day liftoff proves to be top event of the year

There are so many fun and exciting annual things to do in Colorado Springs. However, Colorado Springs Labor Day lift is one of the best events to attend every year in Colorado Springs. Even if you don't want to go to Memorial park for all the action, you can view the spectacular sites of balloons filling the morning sky against the backdrop of the Front Range Rocky Mountains for nearly anywhere in the city. This event is a special one for RE/MAX Properties Inc. in particular because our namesake is there every year in the front of the pack giving RE/MAX Realtors an in-person and literal meaning to RE/MAX's motto for over 30 years: "Above the Crowd." At the Colorado Springs, Labor Day lift off the RE/MAX Balloon always puts on a show and represents our company.

We were lucky enough to join the RE/MAX Balloon crew for a true Labor Day Liftoff experience:

One of the coolest parts about the Labor Day lift off is that anyone is allowed to walk up and see the balloon preparation from a hands-on point-of-view. It is a truly unique thing to be able to show up and watch all these incredible craftsmen and women set up their balloon rigs, baskets and what seems to me like it would be best describe basically a huge flamethrower that throws a ridiculous amount of heat up into the balloons.

The Balloon Glow is another incredible sight to see during the labor day lift off event. During the evening hours as the sun is going down the balloons set up and start to fill up on hot air! The sight gets better and better as the day turns to night and the balloons really glow against the night sky! There will be approximately 70 hot air balloons coming to life as the sun sets and the balloons do their dance. The balloon glow is set for 7:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday so there will be plenty of time to enjoy your other Labor Day activities! Search Downtown Colorado Springs Properties.

There will also be plenty of things to do throughout the Labor Day weekend. Fun things to do at the Labor Day Liftoff include Glaser Energy Chainsaw Carving, Dunkin' Donuts Donut Eating Championships, Mike's Camera Balloon Photography Contest, skydiving, paddle boarding, drafonfly paddle Yoga, and even skydiving! The weekend will be sure to impress anyone looking for a fun and exciting time. The Labor Day Liftoff is a guaranteed good time. We have been going to the Liftoff for 30 years now and every year is better than the previous. There is always something new and excited to witness.
