Old Colorado City is one of the most historic locations in Colorado Springs. Originally founded in 1859, Old Colorado City was the original capital of the territory of Colorado. When Colorado Springs was formed, Old Colorado City became a center for ore processing and industry. As Colorado Springs grew, so did Old Colorado City. Today, it is home to over 100 businesses. It captures the historical aspects of Colorado all while showing off great views of the present view. Colorado Avenue runs through the middle of the town, and local restaurants and shops line the road, creating an environment where a small-town feel is present.

There is a plethora of things-to-do for both Old Colorado City residents as well as all of Colorado Springs some of the highlights include the following. A staple in Colorado Springs, the Michael Garmin Gallery and Magic Town. This place is a hoot. With an old city feel these tabletop statues are sure too cool to look and yet even better to purchase for yourself or as a gift. The highlight of the Michael Garmin Gallery is Magic Town

Additionally, there are so many good restaurants in Old Colorado City. Some of our favorites include Paravacini & Jake and Tellys. Maybe it is because we are also of Mediterranean descent but these two restaurants are top-notch and we have been going to both for years.
