How to Navigate Manitou Springs | Colorado Springs Real Estate
Tucked in between Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak is the town of Manitou Springs. This small town is home to some of the prettiest sights Colorado has to offer. The town sees the beautiful Garden of the Gods to the Northeast, and looks up to America's Mountain, Pikes Peak, to the West. There is no shortage of activities to participate in if you find yourself in the area. The Manitou Incline is a popular hiking spot for both locals and tourists. The trek up the incline gains over 2,000 feet of altitude in less than 1 mile of trail. Connecting with Barr Trail, you can make hiking the incline the first leg of climbing Pikes Peak. Another popular activity is to enjoy the Manitou Springs Penny Arcade, officially called Arcade Amusements. This is a great spot located right off Main Street to entertain everyone of all ages. With games dating back into 1930, the arcade keeps all of the prices that they originally were, so you can still find some games for just a penny. With pinball machines, pool tables, skeeball, and classic games like Galaga and Pac-Man, there are games for everyone at the Manitou Springs Penny Arcade. Located near Manitou Springs, just up Highway 24, is the Cave of the Winds and the Cliff Dwellings Museum. These two attractions provide a historical look at the area. In Cave of the Winds, you can see the cave system that two brothers originally found in 1869. At the Manitou Cliff Dwellings Museum, you get to see dwellings comprised of Anasazi ruins that date back 800 to 1,000 years.
