Mayor John Suther's and a few other local icons helped launch this historical event.
With partial cloud cover over the Front Range Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, the unveiling of the new bridge offered some incredible sites and the Mayor of Colorado Springs delivered an interesting speech that helped the audience realize the incredible significance of this historical event.
The night before the bridge unveiling, Chris Jenkins, of Norwood Properties, announced the new name for this downtown area of Colorado Springs: Park Union. We are excited to show off this part of our city to visitors and guests as it will be sure to impress especially as the area becomes more developed.
After the ribbons were cut participants were allowed to test out the new bridge while the Front Range Rocky Mountains continued to look incredible with partial cloud covering Pikes Peak and the surrounding higher peaks and hills. With this new addition to our city, we can expect only great things to surround this iconic landmark. Chris Jenkins, of Norwood Development Group, showed a rendering of what the entire area might look like someday and it is really exciting to think about how this area will one day be a thriving community with both commercial and residential properties surrounding American the Beautiful Park as well as the United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum.
