Colorado Springs is considered the Olympic City for good reason. Not only because of the Olympic Training Center and substantial Olympic presence throughout the city but also because Colorado is a world-class location to train no matter what the sport. The average elevation in Colorado is 6,800 feet making it a superb place for athletes to train. This may be one of the reasons the State of Colorado had more athletes in the 2018 Winter Olympics than any other state:

  2.  California - 22 athletes
  3.  Minnesota - 19 athletes
  4.  New York - 18 athletes
  5.  Utah - 16 athletes

Colorado Springs | 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Downtown Celebration

On February 9, 2018, Colorado Springs, United States Olympic Committee and Colorado Springs Sports Corp hosted a Celebration from 5-9pm for the opening of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
