Peyton Colorado is a small town located just 5 minutes from Falcon and less than 20 miles from Colorado Springs. With such close proximity to Colorado Springs you have easy access to all the fun things to do Colorado Springs has to offer while living the Colorado country life in Peyton. Here are some highlights on things to do in Colorado Springs.
Garden of the Gods Park is one I'd put high on the your list of places to visit, it's Rated #1 U.S Park on Tripadvisor! This geological wonder of red rocks formed millions of years ago due to upheavals in the earth's surface and erosion. There are even formations in some of the rocks, try to see if you can spot them. Pikes Peak is another must see in Colorado Springs. At 14,115 feet this is on of the 53 mountains in Colorado that are 14,000 feet+ and is one of the top 100 mountains is the United States! There a few ways to achieve the top of the mountain. You can take a guided Jeep Tour or Tour by Gray Line. My personal favorite is The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. If you're feeling a little adventurous, Pikes Peak Bicycle Expeditions offers an amazing experience to take a vehicle ride up the mountain and then ride a bike down the mountain! There is also the option to drive your own vehicle, if you choose to do this make sure you make a reservation. Now if you really want a challenge you can hike this 14er! This is a hard 13.5 mile climb uphill with an elevation gain of 7,400+ feet. Make sure you do your research and prepare properly before you take on hiking Pikes Peak. The only waterfall in Colorado on the National Geographic's list of International Waterfalls is right here in Colorado Springs! Seven Falls, also known as "The Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado" is located less than a mile from the famous Broadmoor Hotel. This natural wonder is a 224 step to the banks of the streams that feeds the falls but it's worth every step to the 181 foot drop of falling water. If your not up to taking steps the views from the bottom are just as amazing. If you are into hiking, North Cheyenne Canon Park has amazing trails including Helen Hunt Falls. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is also a great way to spend a day! These are just a few ideas of the area has to offer.
